The Kearby affix has been in existence since the late 1940s and is now in the nineteenth generation of Bull Terriers.

Quita Youatt started Kearby and bred her last litter aged 90, in 2003.

Since day one our focus has been in coloured Bull Terriers and all Kearby whites are colour-bred whites.

Meet our current dogs and past champions, learn about the amazing life and exploits of Quita in the history pages, and see how the breed has evolved.

Quita passed quietly in her sleep on 1st January, 2011, marking the end of a remarkable life both in and out of the show ring.

Quita was every bit the human personification of a bull terrier:  stoic, headstrong and stubborn, yet incredibly loyal, cheeky and tremendous fun.

Her dedication to the breed went above and beyond her own programme;  she was often found hurtling up and down the country supporting local fledgling clubs, with a car full of bull terriers, chocolate cake, sale items and unbounding energy.

Her influence will continue to be felt as her breeding through the Kearby line can be seen sitting behind many of today’s champions, both in the UK and abroad.

Her straight-talking, no nonsense approach is already missed - along with her infamous and explosive Gin & Mixes.

One thing is for sure, she will not be alone, wherever she has gone she will most certainly be surrounded by Bull Terriers.
